Nambu is a social networking client for Mac OSX and the iPhone. Nambu for Mac can connect to multiple Twitter, identi.ca, and laconi.ca sites like HAKtweet*. Support for FriendFeed and Ping.fm is coming soon. Nambu for iPhone can connect to a Twitter, identi.ca, laconi.ca, FriendFeed, and Ping.fm account. You can also access your tr.im and pic.im stats.

*Note: Nambu for Mac is in beta and currently only supports Twitter.

Setting up Nambu for iPhone to work with HAKtweet is easy:

  • Download Nambu for iPhone from the iTunes Store Nambu iPhone Setup - Step One
  • Under the Settings menu, select "Laconica" Nambu iPhone Setup - Step Two
  • Type your username, password, and "haktweet.com/api" as the hostname Nambu iPhone Setup - Step Three
  • That's it! You should now see your personal timeline right on your iPhone! Nambu iPhone Setup - Step Four

Nambu Tips

Already have a favorite twitter client?

Don't enter your twitter credentials into Nambu unless you won't be using any other Twitter client. Nambu seems to run a bit slower when you associate your Twitter account with it.

Hey! Where's my DMs?

DMs, @replies, and your status updates will show up in Nambu for iPhone when you click on the "Star" icon in the upper right corner. DMs will show up in blue, @replies in brown, and your status updates in black. Click he "Home" icon to go back to the personal timeline.

Where is everyone?

If you don't see much activity on your personal timeline, you probably haven't subscribed to very many people. Start subscribing to people by logging into the HAKtweet website and clicking the "Subscribe" button on users profile pages.
